Locale Neighborhood Italian restaurant opening at former Old Pueblo Grille

When the conversations started nearly two years ago, restaurateurs Deborah Tenino and Nick Kreutz wondered how in the heck they would make use of all 8,100 square feet of space in the old farmhouse-turned-restaurant at 60 N. Alvernon Way. And then COVID-19 happened and that big sprawling outdoor patio and the thousands of square feet of dining space that was home to the long-closed Old Pueblo Grille made sense in a way that wasn’t so obvious when they signed the lease in late 2019.


The Locale Neighborhood Italian's menu borrows from all corners of Italy, presenting regional takes on lasagna and ravioli, including pansotti — swiss-chard-filled ravioli dressed in an earthy walnut sauce — from Liguria. Investors buy part of city's tallest building for hotel project

Plans for a new hotel in downtown Tucson are in the works for the city’s tallest building, One South Church. Phoenix investors 1SC Hotel QOZB LLC, bought five floors of the 23-story tower for a 145-room boutique hotel for $7.5 million.
The hotel will be on floors 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The rest of the tower, named after its address, will remain office space and also be upgraded.

Dog park restaurant concept moving into Tucson in 2021

Texas-based restaurant concept pairing craft-casual food and drink with a large, open, off-leash play area for dogs is looking to set up shop in Tucson by late 2021. The restaurant’s claim to fame is its off-leash dog parks, where owners can let their pets run free while having a drink or getting a bite to eat on-site.

The restaurant offers a menu that includes sandwiches, burgers, chicken dishes and snack plates, with craft beer and mixed drink options to wash them down. Pets can munch on mini-beef franks, known as “doggie dogs,” and pupsicles, dog-friendly popsicles made from beef broth, and peanut butter on edible sticks.

The parks are maintained by staff members known as “bark rangers,” who clean up after the pets and de-escalate any situation where the dogs might “get too rowdy”.
